Baking started a hobby for me very late in life!
Like mid-40’s!

I had never been even remotely interested in baking before. One day while scrolling through social media, I came across these Twinkies decorated to look like Minions from the Despicable Me movies. I thought they were the cutest things ever! I HAD to make them. I did some research on where to buy baking materials and I walked into a Michael’s craft store for the very first time. I was amazed at all the different baking tools there were. I ended up replicating those Minion Twinkies and I was hooked! I started baking more and more, trying different decorating techniques and I just got better and better.

In October of 2021, I ended up quitting my full time job at a local not-for-profit Hospice and opened my own bakery, at the age of 55!! It was amazing, but a lot of work and I enjoyed every minute of it. I won El Paso Inc’s Best of El Paso for 2021 and 2022. After 3 years of working 10, 12 and even sometimes 14 hours a day, I decided not to renew my lease and sold my Bakery. I learned so much, had so many repeat customers that I learned to love, and was very grateful that I had a dream realized.

I now work full time at a different, local Hospice but needed a creative outlet. I decided to start this blog so I can continue to bake, learn, grow and share my experiences, tips and techniques!
